8-Track Tape

8-Track Tape

$800.00

The 8-track tape has been acquired as a Pearce Artifact, weighing in at 5 lbs, 2 ounces, joining the VHS and cassette tapes. The CD applied to be a Pearce Artifact, and although it is significant in audio history, it lacks interest as a form when translated into bronze. There are still some talks underway with the record. The 8-track had a brief run in the mid 1960s to the early 1980s when the compact cassette tape became more popular. The format was commonly used in cars and was cool because you didn’t have to flip it over, the tape would start again at the beginning.
